Tell Boogso what's wrong, in your own words

The next version of Kaaliye will let you describe what you're feeling — in Somali or English, however you'd say it to a relative — and guide you to the right care. The right specialty, the right urgency, or the ambulance button.

  • It runs on our own servers. Not a foreign AI company's. What you describe about your health is processed inside Boogso and stays there.
  • Built for how people actually describe illness. Somali first, not a model that learned health in English and had it translated.
  • It still won't diagnose you. It points you to the right care faster. The doctor is still the doctor.

Not in the app yet. We'd rather tell you what we're building than pretend it's already there.

What you can do

Eight things that usually take eight trips

Booking, records, results, medicine, an ambulance. All of it in one place, on the phone you already own.

Request an ambulance

One tap sends your live location to the nearest partner service. No explaining the street name to someone who doesn't know it.

Book without queueing

Pick a specialty, see who's available, choose a time. You get a confirmation and a reminder instead of a morning in a waiting room.

Find the right doctor

Browse by specialty and region — cardiology, dental, optical, paediatrics — with the clinic, the fees and other patients' reviews attached.

Carry your records

Prescriptions, diagnoses, discharge notes. Kept under one Health ID so no clinic has to start from a blank page.

Get lab and scan results

Results land in the app when they're ready. Share them with a specialist without carrying an envelope across town.

See a doctor without travelling

Book a remote consultation and Boogso opens the chat with your doctor on WhatsApp at the right time, already introduced. Nothing new to install, and the doctor's notes still land in your record.

Make sense of it, any hour

Kaaliye, the Boogso assistant, explains what a result or a prescription actually means in plain Somali or English — and gets you to the right doctor when you need one. It runs on our servers, so what you tell it stays with us.

Ask, and read up

A health library in Somali and English, plus a free channel to ask a qualified professional a question and get a real answer.

Emergencies

When minutes matter, address-finding shouldn't cost you any

Most emergency calls are lost explaining where you are. Boogso sends your GPS coordinates with the request, so the crew is routed to a point on a map rather than a landmark and a guess.

1 tap Request with live location.
Short-code dialling being provisioned.

How it works

Three steps, then it's just there

Sign up with your phone

Your number, an SMS code, done. No email required, no paperwork, no clinic visit to register.

Get your Health ID

One permanent number that follows you between clinics, hospitals and labs — public or private.

Use it when you need it

Book, request, read a result, show your history. It works the same in a city hospital as in a district clinic.

Your records, your call

Health data is the most personal data there is

So the default is closed. Boogso doesn't open your history to a provider because they asked — it opens because you granted it.

  • Access is granted, not assumed. A clinic sees your records only after you approve it, and you can withdraw that.
  • Encrypted in transit and at rest. Every request between the app and our servers runs over TLS.
  • Never sold. We don't sell health data to advertisers, insurers or brokers. There is no version of Boogso where that changes.
  • Yours to take. Export your records or close your account whenever you want.

What a provider sees

Before you grant access: your name and the appointment you booked. Nothing else.

After you grant access: the records you chose to share, for as long as you leave that permission on.

What Boogso staff see: nothing about your medical history in the normal course of running the service.

For hospitals, clinics and labs

Fill your schedule instead of your waiting room

Boogso lists your practice where patients are already looking, and hands you the booking rather than a phone call somebody has to answer.

Get discovered

Appear in searches by specialty, region and availability.

Manage bookings

Confirm, reschedule or decline from a provider dashboard.

Publish results

Push lab and imaging results straight to the patient's app.

Consult remotely

Register your WhatsApp number once. Patients arrive already introduced.

Already running a clinic?

Onboarding takes a conversation and a form, not an IT project. We add your profile, your specialties and your hours, then you go live.

Questions

Reasonable things to ask

Does Boogso cost anything?

The app is free to download and free to use. Searching for a provider, booking, storing your records and asking a health question cost nothing. What you pay is what the clinic, doctor or lab charges for the care itself — and you see that before you book.

Is the app in Somali?

Yes. The whole interface, the health library and support are available in Somali and English inside the app, and you can switch at any time from settings. This website is currently English only — a Somali version is coming.

What is Kaaliye, and does it diagnose me?

Kaaliye is the assistant built into Boogso. It explains things — what a lab result means, what a medicine is for, what a doctor's note is saying — and it helps you get to the right care, whether that's finding a specialist, booking a slot or requesting an ambulance. It does not diagnose you and it is not a doctor. When something needs a clinician, it says so and gets you to one rather than guessing. A person can take over at any point.

How does a remote consultation actually work?

You book a time with a doctor who offers them. At that time, Boogso opens a WhatsApp chat with the doctor for you — already filled in with your name, your Health ID and the appointment, so they know who you are straight away. The call happens in WhatsApp. We don't run our own video service, because the app you already have works better on the connections most people actually have. If video won't connect, the doctor switches to voice. Afterwards their notes and any prescription go into your records.

Can I use it without a strong internet connection?

Boogso is built for the connections people actually have. It's light, it works on 3G, and it does not depend on video calling to be useful.

Who can see my medical records?

Only you, and whoever you explicitly grant access to. Granting is per-provider and reversible. We don't sell health data, and we don't share it with insurers or advertisers.

Does Boogso replace calling emergency services?

No. Boogso routes an ambulance request with your location to partner services. If you are in immediate danger, use every channel available to you — the app is there to make the location part instant, not to be your only option.

Who is behind Boogso?

Boogso is built and operated by Hubaal Technologies, a health technology company working in Somalia.
